stand on a towel, also try rub some Vaseline on the soles of your feet, it acts as a barrier the tan will not stain your feet. I also rub a little on my toes to stop them going too orange.

exfoliating before aplication is vital.
also use some moisturiser before applying to ensure an even tan.
i use the lo'real sub-lime bronzer (gold bottle) its a lot nicer than garnier. you dont need to rub in either
